  • What is North Platte Giving Year End?

    North Platte Giving Year End makes it easy and convenient for people to help favorite community causes in North Platte and Lincoln County, Nebraska. North Platte Giving Year End is hosted by Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation, a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

  • When is North Platte Giving Year End?

    North Platte Giving Year End begins on November 26, 2024, and ends at Midnight on December 31, 2024, Central Time.

  • What organizations are eligible for North Platte Giving Year End?

    Each organization must be recognized as a 501(c)(3) public charitable organization in good standing with the IRS as well as be located and provide services other than religion in North Platte or Lincoln County, Nebraska.

  • Do nonprofits pay to be part of North Platte Giving Year End?

    No. Nonprofit organizations do not pay to participate in North Platte Giving Year End.

  • How much of the donation will go to the nonprofit?

    Participating nonprofit organizations will receive the full value of each donation. Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation and an anonymous donor are covering all transaction processing and credit card fees.

  • When will my nonprofit receive donations?

    Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation will make payments to each nonprofit organization following the conclusion of North Platte Giving Year End and after all transactions are verified and accounting has been finished. This is normally within 2 to 3 weeks.

  • May nonprofits provide something of value in exchange for a charitable contribution?

    Nonprofits, including Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation, may not provide or promise goods or services in exchange for a charitable contribution.

  • How will donations be acknowledged and recognized?

    Donors will receive an immediate thank you and tax receipt from Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation for an online donation. If they donate by check, they will receive a thank you and receipt from Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation once the check has been processed. Unless anonymity is requested by donors, nonprofit organizations are urged to also thank and recognize donors.

  • What information will be made public?

    The total amount and the number of ALL donations to various participating nonprofits made during the North Platte Giving Year End campaign will be made public.  Information about individual donors will NOT be made public by Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation. 

     

    Much of the profile information provided by each nonprofit will be made public to inform donors about nonprofit services and activities.  Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation may edit profile information about nonprofits that is made public.

  • Are there any representations made about nonprofit organizations?

    Beyond providing a service to help charitable people make donations and disburse funds to donor-designated nonprofit organizations, Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation makes no warranties, claims, or representations pertaining to the effectiveness of any participating nonprofit organization nor to the amount of money any nonprofit may raise.
