Families 1st Partnership

About this Organization

Families 1st Partnership collaborates with community partners to build strong, healthy communities by addressing gaps, needs, and barriers faced by families and unsupported youth. The overarching goal is to prevent families, children, and at-risk youth from entering into DHHS care-including foster care and juvenile justice. A secondary goal is to create a system of partners working together to serve the residents of our community. Our primary service is Central Navigation, a community intake and referral hub to connect people in crisis to the most appropriate local agency. This partner agency provides coaching for the family or individual to find solutions to address the most urgent need yet look to creating sustainability for the future. Educational supports are provided for creating a budget, improving basic living skills, acquiring better employment, and parenting. Educational supports are also available to local agencies so frontline workers are prepared to work with at-risk families or individuals. Applications for assistance and coaching support can be accessed on the website: https://families1stpartnership.org/# Through quarterly meetings, community partners prioritize community needs and begin problem-solving conversations to address concerns. Local partners form workgroups to address concerns, gather information, and then take steps to improve services.
